Objective:To investigate the expression and significance of CD40 and caspase-7 in renal clear cell carcinoma (RCCC).Methods:The expression of CD40 and Caspase-7 were detected with immunohis-tochemical technique in 41 cases of RCCC,21 cases of adjacent tissues and 6 cases of normal tissues. Their effects in RCCC and their relationship with clinical stage and pathological grade were analyzed.Results:(1) The positive expression rate of CD40 (61.0%) in RCCC was significantly higher than that in adjacent tissues (9.5%) and normal tissues (0),P<0.05. Meanwhile, the rate were increased with higher pathological grade and clinical stage,P<0.05.(2) The positive expression rate of Caspase-7 (51.2%) in RCCC was significantly lower than that in adjacent tissues (85.7%) and normal tissues (83.3%),P<0.05. Meanwhile, the rate were descended with higher pathological grade and clinical stage,P<0.05.(3) The positive expression rate of CD40 (100%) in RCCC of lymphatic metastasis was significantly higher than that in tissues without lymphatic metastasis (51.5%),P<0.05.Morover, the positive expression rate of Caspase-7 (25.0%) in RCCC of lymphatic metastasis was lower than that in tissues without lymphatic metastasis (54.5%),but there were non-significant difference(P>0.05).(4) There were significant direct correlation among the level of positive expression of CD40 and pathological grade(rs=0.647) and clinical stage (rs=0.587), P<0.05.Meanwhile, there were also significant inverse correlation among the level of positive expression of Caspase-7 and pathological grade(rs= -0.488) and clinical stage(rs=-0.472),P<0.05.(5) There were 17 cases of the negative expression of Caspase-7 in 25 cases of the positive expression of CD40 in RCCC,meanwhile, there were 11 cases of the positive expression of Caspase-7 in 16 cases of the negative expression of CD40 in RCCC. Besides, both of positive expression had 8 samples, both of negative expression had 5 samples. It was demonstrated that the expression of CD40 and Capase-7 had significant inverse correlation by the Spearman's relativity analysis (rs=-0.580),P<0.05.Conclusions:1. The expression of CD40 played a significant role in the anti-tumor immunity and the pathogenesis of RCCC. Meanwhile, there were close relativity between novel expression and biological behaviours, considered as one of tumor correlated markers, which may provide a new option for renal carcinoma targeted therapy.2. The expression of Caspse-7 also played a significant role in the pathogenesis of RCCC. Meanwhile, there were partial relativity between novel expression and biological behaviours, regarded as neither one of tumor markers, which may provide a new option for renal carcinoma targeted therapy.
