The Association Of CYP17 Gene Polymorphisms With Polycystic Ovary Syndrome In Chinese Population Using Meta-Analysis

Objective:The objective was to provide an overall assessment of the association of CYP17 gene polymorphisms with polycystic ovary syndrome in Chinese population using a meta-analysis.Methods:Studies were selected according to the predetermined inclusion criteria.After data collection and gene loci selection, meta-analysis was performed by RevMan 4.2.10.Results:Six articles were included. The distribution frequency of CYP17 gene SNP AlAlwas not significamly higher in PCOS group than that in control group. Their pooled OR and 95% CI was 0.69 [0.38,1.26].The distribution frequency of CYP17 gene SNP A1A2 was significamly higher in PCOS group than that in control group. Their pooled OR and 95% C1 was 0.79[0.63,0.99].The distribution frequency of CYP17 gene SNP A2A2 was significamly lower in PCOS group than that in control group. Their pooled OR and 95% C1 was 1.41 [1.10,1.81].The distribution frequency of CYP17 gene. SNP A1 was significamly higher in PCOS group than that in control group. Their pooled OR and 95% C1 was 0.73[0.55,0.96].The distribution frequency of CYP17 gene SNP A2 was significamly lower in PCOS group than that in control group. Their pooled OR and 95% C1 was 1.37[1.04, 1.81]. There was remarkable heterogeneity among the studies included in the meta-analysis of the association of CYP17 gene SNP with T(P<0.10). The results of publication bias diagnostics and sensitivity analysis demonstrated the reliability and stability of this meta-analysis.Conclusion:PCOS have racial and regional differences. A2A2 genotypes of serum total testosterone levels are higher than A1A1 type group and A1A2 type, A2 allele group's testosterone levels are significantly higher than no A2 group. In China, CYP17 genes in the crowd A1 and A1A2 alleles associated with PCOS onset.
