OBJECTIVE:To research the experimental hyperpigmentation induced by quercetin or procyanidin on the skin of brownish guinea Pigs and Provide clinic experimental evidence for treating vitiligo with quercetin or procyanidin.METHODS:70 healthy brownish guinea Pigs were used in this experiment. We Select 4×4cm2 areas on the back of each guinea pigs as shaving areas 5% hydrogendioxide scraped on the shaving areas twice everyday until turning white. We divided the 48 successful models into 6 groups randomly, and named them with A,B,C,D,E,F, A control group, B control group,C quercetin group, D 8-MOP group, E0.1% procyanidin group,F 0.3% procyanidin group. Group A was treated with 90% alcohol, Group B was treated with distilled water, Group C was treated with quercetin, Group D was treated with 8-MOP, Group E was treated with 0.1% procyanidin, Group F was treated with 0.3% procyanidin. The dose were 1ml,twice every day. After treated with 8-MOP, Group D should be puted under the sunshine for 10 minutes. Taking Photos every two weeks. Efficacy was evaluated at the end of experiment via HE,Fontana—Masson stain and electronmicroscope method.RESULTS:38 guinea Pigs had completed the study. Depigmentation appeared after scrape 5% hydrogendioxide. All the treatment area appear different degree hyperpigmentation. A,B control group have no variation(P>0.05). All the 4 methods have effect of hyperpigmentation on the back of brownish guinea Pigs, there is statistic significances between control group and group C & group D &group E &group F. Fontana—Masson stain show there is no statistic significances with in group C and group D,group F (P >0.05), but there is statistic significances between group E and group D & group F &group C (P<0.05), group D & group F &group C are superior to group E. This study shows that quercetin and procyanidin have different degree hyperpigmentation on the skin of Vitiligo brownish guinea pigs.
