Systematic Review Of Acupuncture In The Treatment Of Myopic Eye

Objective:To overall know the statuaquo on acupuncture in the treatment of myopic eye in China.Summurize the main problems and the therapeutic effect of acupuncture on myopic eye,provide consults for the therapy of acupuncture on myopic eye.Method:To search the report of acupuncture on myopic eye comprehensivly,including the datebase of VIP,CNKI,WF to October 2010.In the first time,We enter the "myopia"or "myopic eye"for the retrival.·In the second time,We enter the "acupuncture".The reports were searched by handsearching and choose the reports for study.The detailed dates are extracted and analyzed in the reports including randomized controlled trials,as well as quality appraisal was conducnted according to CONSORT statement.And observe the therapeutic effect of acupuncture on myopic eye are better than other therapys or no.For the self controlled trials,we calculate the effective rate.Results:1. Searching reports:593 reports were searched about acupuncture in the treatment of myopic eye.There are only 49 reports about therapeutic effect of acupuncture on myopic eye without other therapys.5 reports including randomized controlled trials and 44 reports including self controlled trials.2. Reports review:There are some problems urgent to be dealt with in methodological issues.such as statistical methods,randomization,follow-up.3. Therapeutic effect review:The therapeutic effect of acupuncture on myopic eye are better than other therapys (P<0.05).In the self controlled trials,the highest therapeutic effect rate is 99.4%,while the lowest therapeutic effect rate is 87%,the mean therapeutic effect rate is 93.74%.Above 90 percents people about acupuncture in the treatment of myopic eye in China are effective.Conclusion:Acupuncture treatment has better curative effect to the myopic eye.There are some problems urgent to be dealt with in the clinical trials.Researchers should be trained formally in methodological issues.
