| Objective:Long-term hormone local injections of tendon have negative effects, but the influence of short-term application on tendon remains a matter of debate. In order to understand the hormone effects on tendon and necessity of execise post hormone injection, and to consider the feasibility of local hormone injection in clinic, we observe the presence of tendon after short-term local hormone injection by biomechanical and histological methods.Methods:Dose of injection in experiment group was set according to the doses of human local injection by proportion. Both Achilles tendon were injected dexamethasone with the dose of 0.025 mg, once a week,3 times for a course of treatment. Hormone local injection and speed-training groups were prepared to run at the speed of 25 m/min for 30minutes,3 times per week. None of the procedures above were given to the control group.After 4 and 7 weeks,billateral Achillis tendons were obtained to undergo the HE and MASSON stain, We observe the inflammatory cells, the collagen fiber arrangement under microscopes and biomechanical changes by biomechanical tests.Results:Hormone injection group showed first increase then decrease in biomechanical properties.The HE and MASSON stain showed tendon degeneration, and we even found a tendon rupture sample; Hormone injections+speed-training group showed first decrease then increase in biomechanical properties, The HE and MASSON stain also showed tendon degeneration.Conclusion:Even short-term hormone local injection have negative effects on tendon. The determination of apllying local injection should be carefully made, once apllied, make sure that the patient avoid violent activities, because tendon strength can be quickly reduced, while moderate excercise can increase the tendon strength.0... |
