| Objective:To evaluate the effectiveness of unilateral pedicle screw instrumentation versus bilateral pedicle screw Instrumentation in posterior lumbar interbody fusion, Methods:randomized controlled trials(RCTs)and clinical trials(CCTs)were indentified from MEDLINE(1995-2010.11), EMBASE(1995-2010.11), CBMdisc. We handserched RCTs and CCTs. Data were extracted by two reviewers with designed extraction from Revman4.2.2software was used for data analysis. Results:seven RCTswere included. The combined results of meta analysis showed that compared with bilateral group, unilateral can reduce the time of operation and the days in hospital. but the operative blood loss, lumbar fusion rate, operation complication have no difference Conclusion:Compared with bilateral group, unilateral group can reduce the time of the time of operation and the days in hospital, but can not reduce operative blood loss, there are no difference in lumbar fusion rate and operation complication between unilateral and bilateral. Because of lack of enough, the conclusion may be bias. More randomized controlled trials are required. |
