To provide some basis theories for evaluating the safety of genetically modified organism corn toweaning pigs comprehensively, the influence of genetically modified organism corn on theperformance, physiology, immune response and gut microflora of weaning piglets were studied, andthe residues of exogenous genes and proteins were detected. All experiments were conducted with theguidance of real identity principle. The experiments were showed as follows:The first experiment was conducted to study the effects of genetically modified organism cornon the performance of28-days weaning piglets, a total of100healthy piglets were randomlyassigned2groups, control and test group, with5replicates of10pigs each group. The control groupwere added the genetically modified organism corn parents fodder, while the test one were fed withthe genetically modified phytase corn fodders. The experimental lasted for35days.The second experiment was conducted to study the effects of genetically modified organismcorn on the physiology, immune response, gut microflora and the residues of exogenous genes andproteins of weaning pigs. A total of72healthy barrows were randomly assigned2groups, controland test group, with6replicates of6pigs each group. The different groups were fed withgenetically modified corn parents fodder and genetically modified phytase corn fodders respectively. The experiment was over until the pigs weight up to50kg.The main conclusion:1. Genetically modified organism corn had no bad effects on the performance of weaning piglets(P>0.05).2.Genetically modified organism corn had no harmful effects on the physiology(gastroenteritisdevelopment, digestive heavy, internal organs index, gastrointestinal mucosa, microstructureobservation of organs),the blood biochemical indicator (GOT, GPT, AP,GT and UA),The immunefunction index (immune organs index, humoral immune, peripheral T lymphocytes conversion rate),intestinal structure (intestinal length and crypt depth) and the microflora (aerobic bacteria andanaerobic bacteria, escherichia coli, lactic acid bacteria and16SrRNA intestinal microbial diversityanalysis) and so on.3.Exogenous gene Fragment of phytase and phytase Protein of genetically modified organismcorn were detected in the content of digestive tract of weaning pigs, including stomach, duodenum and jejunum, and not discovered in the ileum content and excrement they. In addition, this gene andprotein were not checked out in the heart, liver, kidney, longissmus muscle and crureus of weaningpiglets.4. The results showed that genetically modified organism corn on piglets is safe.
