Rotary tiller is one of the most common farmland machinery, the gearbox is a keycomponent of the whole power transmission, Its work to stabilize the quality of rotary tillageoperations have a major impact. Mechanical product design is a key factor affecting thestability of mechanical products. The traditional method of mechanical design check fromdesign to engineering drawing are done by hand, low accuracy, inefficient, a direct impact onthe stability of the transmission. Therefore, the use of modern design methods, developmentof the rotary tiller gearbox dedicated CAD system is important.With the rotary tiller gearbox as study object, the paper studies the program design oftransmission main parts, finite element static analysis of the box, drawing of the Involuteprofile,3D parametric modeling of the main parts and automatic drawing of thetwo-dimensional drawings, details are as follows:(1) Based on the research of rotary tiller gearbox design theory, uses VB language toprogramme, Designs the user interface, to achieve the programme dsign of the transmissionmain parts.(2) Analyzing the distribution of bearing loads makes the load applied on the model ismore accurate; In the Simulation, establishes finite element model of cabinet and finiteelement static analysis, gets the diagram of stress and strain diagram and the maximum stressand strain, obtains that box strength meets the requirements.(3) By learning the involute generation principle, Combines with SolidWorks to create3D models, the paper Establishes SolidWorks relative coordinates bevel gear big endianalveolar tooth profile of involute curve mathematical model and Writes programs to achievethe drawing of alveolar tooth involute profile.(4) By means of application programming interfaces, Using the macro recorder andVB6.0to achieve the Secondary development of SolidWorks, and the3D parametric design ofthe main parts of the gearbox.(5) Using SolidWorks to create3D models and realize the automatically draw of2Ddrawings; Studying the dimension in the drawings to achieve the dimension of automation. In the paper, VB is as a tool. SolidWorks API developed is used in the design of rotarytiller gearbox which help to Develope a the gearbox dedicated CAD system. Its interface issimple and Easy to operate. It help to improve the design efficiency, shorter developmentcycles, and has good value.
