To provide the appropriate wheat varieties for high yield in North of Henan,5varieties were chosen asmaterials and the experiment was arranged in Liu Zhai Village, Xunxian, Henan Province during2010-2011. The5varieties were Lankaoaizao8, Yumai49-198, Yanzhan4110, Yunong202and Zhoumai22, respectively, and contrast design was adopted in the field experiment. In this paper, we studied thevarieties differences on wheat morphological characteristics, growth physiology of flag leaves duringgrain filling stage, dry matter accumulation, nitrogen accumulation and grain yield characteristics. Themain results were as follows:1. Among the5varieties, Yunong202had the highest panicle rate, while Yumai49-198had thehighest single plant tiller number. The leaf area of Lankaoaizao8was the largest, and then was Zhoumai22.The leaf chlorophyll content of Yumai49-198was higher before anthesis, and Zhoumai22was higherafter anthesis.2. Yumai49-198had the highest population dry matter accumulation, and Lankaoaizao8had thehighest dry matter accumulation in single stem. Dry matter accumulation and transportation in vegetativeorgans tended to be the highest in Lankaoaizao8, and then in Zhoumai22. Dry matter transportation rateand contribution rate to grain in vegetative organs of these two varieties were higher than the others, and itwas important and beneficial for grain weight.3. Nitrogen concentration in organs of Lankaoaizao8was higher. Nitrogen accumulation ofLankaoaizao8was also the highest, and nitrogen transportation amount in vegetative organs ofLankaoaizao8tended to be the highest. Nitrogen transportation rate and contribution rate to grain invegetative organs of Yumai49-198and Yunong202were higher than other varieties.4. Although the panicle number of Yumai49-198was higher, its grain number per ear and grainweight was lower. The growth rate of1000-kernel weight was fastest in Lankaoaizao8, so the1000-kernelweight and kernel weight per ear of Lankaoaizao8were the highest in maturity. The grain weight and grainnumber per ear of Zhoumai22was next to Lankaoaizao8, and its grain yield was the highest. Yunong202had the highest ear number and the lowest grain weight. For Yanzhan4110, its panicles were enough, and at the same time, its grain weight and grain number per ear was also higher.Taken together, in these5wheat varieties, Lankaoaizao8and Zhoumai22had higher photosyntheticcapacity and grains filling capacity, the grain yield tended to be higher. Lankaoaizao8and Yunong202hadhigher nitrogen transportion capacity. Considered with ear number, grain number per ear and grain weight,Zhoumai22tended to be more coordinate. We think that Zhoumai22has higher yield potential, and it canbe the reconnended variety in North of Henan.
