GIS-Based Pest Investigation In Shenyang Urban Green Space

The urban pest distribution and geographic division of Shenyang green space were studied using GIS technology. Five districts of Shenyang including Heping, Shenhe, Dadong, Huanggu and Tiexi as well as Dongling, Hunnan, Yuhong, Zhangshi, were surveyed during 2008 to2011 .As a result 9 parks, part parks of the green space, the streets and community green spaces were investigated and 235 areas of specimen were obtained. Through surveying 62 main trees of green space were found in Shenyang, which belongs to 26 families and 47 genera and 96 main pests were found, which belongs to 30 families, 2 classes and 8 orders. Main green vegetation in different districts and ring roads and distribution pattern of pests were analyzed using richness index, diversity index, evenness index and pest index. Different regional vegetation and pest richness index, diversity index and evenness index were different as well as pest index and the regulation other index were opposite; Vegetation of different ring roads and the number of pest species were to be found radiating from town centre to the suburbs, the degree of harm radiating from town centre to the suburbs, the regulation of pest index was opposite.Based on the ArcGIS9.0 system, 19 types of superposition figures were made by analyzing and processing raw data using the function of data superposition of GIS. Pests distribution pattern of town centre in Shenyang were analyzed from three points according to the calculated data and a diagram of GIS. Firstly the main plant tree species, pests and main controlling pest areas of different regions in Shenyang green space were analyzed. Secondly pest distribution of different harm area was analyzed: leaf-fed pests distributed widely and damaged harmfully. Trunk pests distributed widely and the plants of most fitted to live in sampling areas were firstly infected by pests and radiated outward. Root pests were found mainly in the sampling areas with tree seedling, farmland seedling and grassy lawn. At the same time pest fauna of different woodland types were analyzed and pest fauna of different woodland types were different.According to above study, a directory of 20 main greening tree species in Shenyang urban and a pest directory of 20 key pests were put forward, of which 8 dangerous pests and 2 potential dangerous pests were found.GIS technology was introduced to the study of pest fauna distribution of city green space to ensure that pests distribution and occurrence regulation of urban green space were analyzed more intuitively and rapidly. The study of the relationship between species diversity and the environment can serve to provide the basic data for establishing the pest forecasting system in Shenyang City urban.
