Solanum melongena L. has been the one of the main varieties of green vegetables in the shed room in north China. With increasing of cultivated areas in the shed room, more and more farmers work on the S. melongena shed room production. So the continuous cropping obstacles has been more and more serious and series of phenomenon occurred. As grafting tech could reduce the continuous cropping obstacles., but the application of engrafting S. melongena has not been detaily reported.Our experiment of grafting use "Solanum Torvum" as the rootstock of S. melongena and "Long Yuan Peng Qie 1" as the budwood. The rootstock was sowed on Dec 20,2009. The budwood was sowed on Jan 25,2010. Deft grafting on Mar.15,2010. The control is the S. melongena sowed on the same environment. The grafted and the control were planted on Apr.25,2010 in shed rooms which had been continuous cropping for 1,2,5,8 years. By analysis data of growth and development of S. melongena such as the production, the plant disease, the quality, the rhizospheric microorganism and the enzymic activity,we come to conclusions as below:1. Grafting could reinforce the growth potential and promote the growth and development. Comparing to the non~grafting plants, the grafting plants have obviously superiority on the stub~height, stub~width, the leaf size and the diameter,the increasing rate is 48.93,39.43,83.67 and 22.44 percent.Difference are significant.2. Comparing to the non~grafting plants,the grafting plants have more prophase production and ultimate production. The procution could be increased more than 30 percent by grafting in non-continuous cropping shed room.,and 85 to 259 percent in continuous cropping shed room.3. The grafting plants have a lower rate and disease index than the non~grafting plants obviously. Detection after 135 days from grafting shows Verticillium Wilt disease rate is 3.57 to 9.52 percent.Because of the slight disease, the period of duration increasing, the collection period could be extend to five months, and the production is much more higher.4. The fruits of grafting plants have an advantage comparing to the non~grafting plants on the shape, the color, the lustrousness, the tenacity. Comparisons of grafting plants and the non~grafting plants shows the former had lower content of VC and solubility sugar by 17to 19 percent to control, content of organic acid,however,have a much increase by more than 75 percent to control.5. The bacteria and actinomyces in the rhizosphere soil have been reduced and fungi has been increased for the non-grafting plants of different continuous years. Full fruit stage of fruits on main stem for 8,5 and 2 years increased by 130,65 and 7percent,the difference are significant. Full fruit stage of fruits on lateral stems for 8,5 and 2 years increased by 70,38 and 7percent, and the difference are significant.The grafting plants have the same trend as the total microorganisms balanced oppositely. 6. The peroxidase, the hydrogen peroxidase, the polyphenol oxidase and protease reduced along with the time increasing. There have been big change for the non~grafting plants,the decreaseing rate is 93,727,452 and 88 percent,and the rangeability is not big for the grafting plants. The differences between the grafting and non-grafting were more and more obviously along with the continuous time increasing.The content of hydrogen peroxidase and polyphenol oxidase is 636 and 261 percent more than non-grafting.Briefly, the accommodation of grafting were more and more obviously by the continuous time increasing. It shows that grafting is one of the most utility to solve the continuous cropping problems. It have the value of spreading and utilizing.
