Forestry Application System is the foundation of the realization of scientific management in the field of forestry. With the deepening of the reform of national forestry management in recent years, the function of the management department is gradually refined and relocated, so it is necessary to upgrade the function of each subsystem so as to meet the functional change in the management department. Based on the theory of Ontology Aggregation in Forestry Application System, some features contained in subsystems which can be transplanted into other systems in order to greatly reduce the time and cost in the upgrading process.The principles of ontology theory are used in the process of upgrade of the original Forestry application system. The knowledge of the original system can be constructed into local ontology which would be aggregated into a global ontology at last. Therefore the original information can be shared among multi-platforms, and the upgrade cycle can be reduced to some degree. Specific researches are done as follows:(1) This paper is based on the characteristics of Forestry Application System and the study is combined with the mainstream method of Ontology Aggregation. We propose a three-step Ontology Aggregation Engineering Framework of Forestry application system. At first, we should establish the local ontology in forestry application system, judge it properly and lastly create the mapping.(2) With the purpose of reducing the misunderstanding and loss in the construction of the original system information in ontology theory, we raise the middle of the substantive law and XML Evolution method so as to construct the local ontology in this paper.(3) The causes and characteristics of the semantic heterogeneous construction and local ontology construction are analyzed in this thesis. Compared with the main Ontology Aggregation methods, we chose the ontology mapping method so as to solve the problems appeared in local ontology heterogeneous construction. According to the study of the ontology mapping theory, we design a local ontology mapping system for the Forestry Application System. The mapping system can be divided into six parts, such as ontology extraction, mapping strategies selection, mapping rules selection, results aggregation, modification of the results, user interaction device.The ontology similarity calculation methods and the fitted mapping rules in Forestry Application System are established in this thesis.(4) After the completion of the preparatory work, we aggregate the local ontology in the Forestry Application System and generate the outcome from the perspective of global ontology.We put forward six steps to fulfill this research as follows:the standardization of the local ontology, feature extraction, re-mapping, rule selections, the judgment of the rules, misjudgment and optimization of the mapping, the generation of the global ontology in Forestry Application System.(5)In this paper, we have also done the evaluative studies concerning the method of the Ontology Aggregation in the Forestry Application System.As a matter of fact, we should spare no effort to deepen our study of the theory of Ontology Aggregation in Forestry Application System. We can discuss and explain it from several aspects. The first aspect is to use the indicators to evaluate the methods of the ontology aggregation. The second aspect is the automatic study of the mapping. The third one is the research of the local ontology construction system.
