Pests threaten agricultural production seriously. The genetic en- gineering of insect-resistant plants has been proved very effective in the integrated pest management program. On the otherhand, pests would be developing resistance to transgenic plants with their wide planting of these plants. The pests of Lepidoptera andHomopteraare mainly serious menace to the crops, and the Lepidopteras, such as Helicover paassulta, cotton boll worm, pink boll worm and corn borer, are prevented and cured by Bt and CpTI proteins which have been taken into practice now.It was reported that rough extract from Pinellia tenata has obvious fatal effect on the Homopteras (e.g. cotton aphid). According to the different mechanism and complementary pest-resistant patterns of the Bt and PTA proteins, the plant expressing vectors containing btand pta insect resistance genes were constructed. Genetically transformed soybeans were produced by co-cultivating whole cotyledonary node explants with Agrobacterium tumefaciens carrying a binary vector coding for bt and pta genes. After six generation self-across,advanced generation soybean strains with bt and pta transformation have been obtained.Theadvanced generation transgenic soybean strains were de-ected by polymerase chain reaction for bt and pta gene. The results showed that 409plants displayed single gene, and 179plants owned double genes and 36plants existedtriple genes, and was 37.8, 17.0, 3.4 percentage of total detecting plants respectively. The mostam- ount of transformed soybean with thepta gene were 239 plants, oc- cupying 22.6 percentage of total detecting plants. The resistance to aphids for advanced generation transgenic soybean strains with bt and pta genes was carried out byinoculating method. The amount of aphids was acquired at 5,10,15 and 20 daysafter inoculation, and it's up to the highest value 37-66 individuals on fifteenth day, and thenreducing slowly. It is significant between transgenic plants and non-transgenic plants, and advanced generation strains with bt and pta showing high resistance to aphids.
