| China has the largest bamboo species in the world. Phyllostachys praecox is the most popular bamboo in Zhejiang province for its earlier shoot harvest, higher output and higher economic benefits. Due to these reasons, the planting areas of Phyllostachys praecox have been increasing at 15% for recent years. However, irrational cultivation causes the decreasing of the output of bamboo shoots, wireworm should be responsible for the crisis. As the market for bamboo products, low toxicity pesticides, residue of the requirements. And because of the hidding, bamboo wireworms is a difficulty of the plant protection work. So the development of a new pollution-free, sustainable, strong control screen specific claw comb knocking a chest of sex pheromone product to replace the bamboo business In pesticide use, has a very important economic and academic significance. The adult of Melanotus cribricollis—wireworm is the study object in this paper. We studied its male and female identification, courtship and mating dynamic rhythm, sex pheromone extraction, separation and identification and scanning electron microscope of antennal sensilla of male and female. The bioassay was carried out as well.1.Using the dissecting microscope, we found that the seventh part of the abdomen in male and female there are subtle differences. The female is relatively flat, the elytra can be seen from the ventral view, and the reproductive section is spacious and flat. But,in the male, it is more pointed, the elytra has been blocked by the abdomen and can not be seen from the ventral view, also the reproductive section is uplift. Adult's reproductive system structure is very similar. Structure of external reproductive organs is a fork-like structure in each other, and in the end of the two sides have a bunch of bristle. Within the adult female reproductive system there is a pair of ovaries, a pair of lateral oviduct, a common oviduct, a bursa copulatrix, and a pair of accessory gland. Pheromone gland is on the two sides of the external reproductive organs.2. Adults hide under the soil or litter in photophase, and come out to feed and mate in scotophase by indoor observed. Calling can continue from 20:00 to 02:00. Mating is come from 20:00 to 02:00, 21:30~0:00 is the peak and 23:00 is the most peak. By day, the second , third and forth day is the peak of mating, following its percentage down. Female's calling mark is that the end of the abdomen upturned, ovipositor extended, elytra opened 20~30 degrees, and the hindwing flaped back and forth. At the same time the end of abdomen also swing from side to side. It common continues 20~130 second. The pose of mating is backpack, and the female is under the male. It common continues 10~90 second, with an average 25 second.3. By many times GC-MS analysis of the gland extracts of female, we identified two maybe compounds. One retention time is 35min and another is 40min. And the two components may be E-11,13-Tetradecadien-1-ol and n-Dodecyl acetate respectively.4. The typology, number, morphology and placement of antennal sensilla of click bettle Melanotus cribricollis (Faldermann) were studied using scanning electron microscopy. The results showed that the antennae on both the males and females are made up of the scape, pedicel and nine flagellomeres. There are eight types of antennal sensilla, sensilla trichodea (including two subtypes: Tâ… and Tâ…¡), sensilla chaetica, sensilla basiconica (including three subtypes: Bâ… -Bâ…¢) , sensilla knee-bend shaped, sensilla hook-shaped, sensilla screw cap, sensilla campaniformia and B?hm sensilla on the antennae of the females. And besides the eight types mentioned above, one more type of grooved pegs on the antennae of the male. By vital statistics, Tâ…¡, Ch and B owes the first, second and third sensilla number, respectively. The differences of the total number and placement of antennal sensilla on the female and male were not significant. |
