Enterococcus faecalis is gram-positive spherical bacterium, it had been neglected in medical field because of being a natural member of the digestive microflora in humans and many other animals, subsequently, the bacterium was known as the most important pathogen resulted in nosocomialtion and resistance to most of antibacterial. Recently, a few reports about animal infect enterococcus faecalis have appeared, but it still has been ignored and lack of document record. This study based on the finding enterococcus faecalis from samples corrected from Hunan province in China. It is well known that Enterococcus faecalis were genetic and environment distribution diversity, there may exist differences in strains from different areas or sources, in our study, traditional methods and AFLP technique and sequencing were used to describe the characteristic of Hunan strains and the difference of each strains. The result showed that most of strains were isolated from lung (69.04%) and the proportion of autumn near the winter but higher than spring and summer. Great diversity was fund in virulence gene carried in Hunan isolates,14 virulence gene types were emerged when distinguish from carried virulence gene. Those strains present multi-drug resistant and all resistance to tetracycline. Diversity was observed in 42 strains base on the difference of resistant drugs. Less incidence of resistance to penicillin G and vancomycin indicate that penicillin G and vancomycin may be suit to treat Enterococcus faecalis in Hunan Province, all strains'biochemical reactions characteristic of 10 selected reagent consists basically with the record of Bergey's Manual of Systemaic Bacteriology. The established AFLP method is suitable to general laboratory, many gene type was acquired by AFLP fingerprints, which more accurately described genetic diversity than 16SrDNA。...
