Matrix converter (MC) in the1970s was put forward, once this theory was put forward the world experts and scholars caused extensive concern. Because the matrix converter has incomparable advantage than traditional converter, the specific performance aspects as following:(1) It has good output characteristics, can make output harmonic distortion rate almost close to zero, and output close to sine current;(2) It has good input characteristics and can be run in unit power factor to any load;(3) It can run in four quadrants, and can make the energy flow on both sides, the electrical energy transform is efficiency;(4) Omitted the de energy storage which links between the ends that make device much smaller, weight much lighter and compact structure, high power density, easy for integration.This paper first introduced the two-way switch structure mode of matrix converter, the basic principle of the commutation and the method of flow changing process and the measures should be taken. Then detailed introduces the principle and strategy of modulation and conclude the advantages and disadvantages of each strategy, and analyzes each strategy application scope. Simulate the directly transfer function method by Matlab, obtain the wave with different output frequency, and for each profile FFT transform the size of that harmonic distortion rate. Finally put forward based on the BUCK circuit of matrix converter modulation strategy, this strategy will make the output waveform distortion rate further reduced, because use the current hysteresis control thought, the anti-jamming performance of the entire system has also much more been improved. Through the harmonic analysis concluded that harmonic mainly concentrated in the near switch frequency.At last, the paper introduces the matrix converter apply in micro nets. The main apply in the permanent magnet synchronous wind generators. The mathematical model of structure shows that this system is non-linear and the paper give the space vector modulation algorithm. Then, the model simplified treatment transform a linear system, analysis the stability of the model and conclude the system is stable.
