According to the requirement of dynamic, continuous blood pressure (BP) measurement, after realizing the automatic blood pressure monitor based on oscillometric method, we have explored a new method to detect continuous blood pressure which combines the electrocardiogram (ECG) and the pulse wave. Meanwhile we also have developed a wearable, real-time blood pressure measuring device. After getting the synchronized ECG and pulse wave signal, we present an approach using slope-threshold based method to detect the R-peak of ECG and the fastest rising time on the rising edge of pulse wave so as to calculate the pulse transit time (PTT). Then BP could be estimated by establishing the PTT-BP model. This method has been used for the wireless wearable physiological parameters monitor to detect the change of systolic blood pressure. It's a kind of reference to explore a better, more effective non-invasive blood pressure measurement in the future. It was found that there is a strong correlation between PTT and systolic blood pressure but it's not so good for the diastolic blood pressure. So far, the model only single parameter is considered. Whether the height, weight, heart rate and other physiological parameters should be involved is to be determined. In addition, the disturbance in the acquisition process, the effect of the abnormal ECG wave to the feature detection has to be analyzed. |
