Energy storage converter is an important tool to help energy storage system play a strong role in the power system, so studying the performance of energy storage converter is significant.This paper proposed converter's overall design, and determined the bidirectional AC/DC circuit and bidirectional DC/DC circuit topology. In order to achieve high current and voltage control precision, faster response speed of the converter design goal, this paper presented the use of analog control circuit as the main control system hardware circuit; in a controlled manner, the paper selected hysteresis control that is tracking fast and easy to implement. Because there are the traditional hysteresis control the shortcomings of the switching frequency instability, compared to four kinds of steady frequency hysteresis control mode, the paper selected variable-band hysteresis control, and proposed the AC/DC, DC/DC variable-band formula and control strategies. According to variable-band hysteresis control formulas and control strategies, the paper designed the hardware circuit for AC/DC control systems, DC/DC control systems, the sampling circuit,driving and protection circuit, for the AC/DC,DC/DC control system joined under-voltage protection, over-voltage protection, pre-charging and other functions, and designed the AC/DC, DC/DC conversion experiments procedures, also includes designing upper information management system and overall experiment procedures of converter.When all of the hardware, software have been implemented and debugged correctly, according to designed experimental procedures, we carried out bi-directional AC/DC and bi-directional DC/DC experiments. During the experiments, to solve the problems, optimizing and upgrading the control system. After a number of experimental results show that analog control circuit based on variable-band hysteresis control can achieve purposes of controlling100kW bi-directional energy storage converter.
