At present, the unit capacity of coal-fired power station is growing. Axial fan with adjustable vanes because of its large flow has a wide area of high efficiency and high economic, so300MW and above large-capacity thermal power units widely used at home and abroad. In order to understand in detail the flow characteristics in the internal part of axial fan and provide a theoretical basis and reference data for the structural optimization design of induced draft fan, the internal flow condition and properties are numerical simulation by using the CFD software in this paper.In this paper, taking a power plant's induced draft fan as an example, using the combining method of the software of CAD and FLUENT focuses on the condition of the different configurations of the internal flow of the air-inlet tank. By the analysis and comparison of inner streamline, static pressure distribution and properties in the fan with different configurations, the way of optimization design for air-inlet tank is found.Under different flow conditions, the internal flow field and characteristics of induced draft fan with different inlet pre-swirl angle are analyzed in detail. Understanding the relationship between the import of pre-swirl angle of axial fan and flow characteristics provides a reference for the optimization of the flow field within the impeller by simulating and identifying initially the best pre-swirl angle.At the same time, by changing the installed angle of axial Fan with adjustable vanes and using the numerical simulation software, the distribution of speed and pressure of the induced draft with different installed angle is got. Understanding the relations of different impeller installed angle and fan performance and the analyzed and compared of different fan performance provide a theoretical basis for the design and energy-saving of fan.
