Aviation piston engine fault causes are diverse, but the ignition system accounted for more than two-thirds of the total failure rate, and the ignition system working conditions directly affect the reliability of the engine. Therefore, study of ignition system fault mechanism, explore the fault reason, to ensure flight safety is important. However, due to the ignition system has complex structure, the traditional examination method is very difficult to find fault in a short period of time.Therefore, an urgent need for a rapid and accurate detection tool for ignition system failure parts,while the portable ignition fault detection system that can meet the above requirements.The portable ignition fault detecting system based on ultraviolet radiation is a type of embedded device which blended in ultraviolet detection technology. In the hardware, the system is separated into two modules, and there are probe module and master module. In the probe choose solar-blinded ultraviolet photosensitive tube as photoelectric sensor of the system, and through a type of two-stage booster circuit to provide 350V DC for the ultraviolet photosensitive tube. The part of signal process includes a frequency selective amplifier and a normal amplifier, which can extract the weak signal in the noise. For providing high quality pulse signal to the master module, a filter based on fuzzy algorithm has been design to process the signal after A/D conversion. The master module centered with ARM7 microprocessor includes several sub-modules, such as LCD display, keyboard, SD card interface, and power management circuit. In software design, transplant the real time operation system (RTOS) kernelμC/OS-Ⅱinto the microprocessor. And develop application program based on the driver. The software entire construct a friendly embedded operation system, which enhance the operability of the system.In the laboratory, the system has been tested through detecting two type of ultraviolet radiation sourc. Results of the testing show that the system can detect ultraviolet radiation source effectively whose energy is between 5 mJ and 1 kJ, when the distance is 5 m. Both technical indicators of the system are better than similar device. At different speeds slick6300 series aviation piston engine ignition balance fault and analysis of experiments testing the system prototype the same outstanding performance, can accurately determine the failed component.So the portable ignition fault detecting system that is high performance and maneuverable will have a rosy prospect in discharge fault detecting area.
