As atmospheric environment is polluted more and more seriously by the industrial production, instruments which can detect the content of various components in the gas in a real-time are needed urgently. There are a lot of smoke detection methods, currently. Internationally, mainstream smoke detection devices are dry-type measuring equipments using the electrochemical principle. There are also some test equipments designed by mean of spectral analysis method, almost usese the principle called differential absorption method. But these devices all have some serious flaws, for example the instruments with electrochemical analysis method will have drift at zero, battery aging or failure measurement caused by that. And the equipments of differential absorption method can not accurately distinguish between NO2 and NO.Based on a lot of experimental data and theoretical arguments this article put forward a new method of spectral measurement.Using the superposition of absorbance, and nonlinear fitting data to eliminat the deviation of Beer - Lambert law's error caused by the nonlinear. With the wavelength optimization and loop iteration method, the different components of the gas mixture can be distinguished. This gas measurement method is different from differential absorption technique, and could be called absolute absorption technique. And the large number of experiments were done to verify the rationality of the algorithm. To along with the method of calculation,we did miniaturization design for overall structure of the UV gas analyzer to overcome the jitter impact of the optical fiber. The error achives to 3% or less, to meet the supervision department's quality requirements on such environmental protection products. The artical gives a detailed description of the portable UV flue gas analyzer's analysis theory, design methods and structural features, and compares the advantages and disadvantages with mainstream smoke monitoring equipments.
