Compared to fixed-volume chamber of traditional artillery, variable volume chamber cannon made an important technical improvement that it can adjust the chamber volume flexibly according to the special needs of emission, for example, range and angle. Besides, it used advanced modular charge technology to optimize the link between the projectile and propellant charge. Further it improves the performance of interior ballistic as well. In this thesis, method of numerical computation is used, and Visual Basic programmed language is used to describe the characteristic of the new technology and process of the interior ballistic cycle in detail. The main contents of this thesis as follows:1. Introduced correlative knowledge to variable volume chamber cannon in brief, such as development background, the structure of the chamber and surrounding parts, technology improvement theory and characteristic of this weapon system. Besides, above of all are introduced in this thesis in brief.2. A classical interior ballistic model is established for the mixed charge of the variable volume chamber cannon. Four orders Runge-Kutta numerical method is used to solve this model so as to get preliminary information about interior ballistic, such as the variation law of the average pressure in chamber and projectile velocity. Based on this mathematical-physical model, the completed program is used to analysis the influence on the performance of the interior ballistic through changing some conditions of the loading, such as the powder mass, the chamber volume, the projectile mass and the powder portion of the thick powder and thin powder in mixed charge. In addition, according to the calculated requirements, the completed program is used to get all of the solutions that is consistent with different powder mass and chamber volume.3. Variable volume chamber cannon adopt central ignition tube to ignite modular charge. A double one-dimensional two-phase flow model is established for the modular charge of the variable volume chamber cannon. MarcCormack numerical method is used to solve this model so as to get further information about the variation law of various parameters over time and space in interior ballistic.
