In vitue of the Department of Education key project (2008307)"The mechanics model and design theory research of vehicle suspension system MR damper", the paper was aimed at improving vehicle running smoothness to carry on research for control strategy of semi-active suspension mainly,and take use of MATLAB and ADAMS to carry on co-simulation.Based on this, the main research contents and results of the paper were as follows:1) Describe the development course of MR semi-active suspension, as well as research situation of its control strategy, at last the author deteimined the main content,purpose and meaning of this article.2) Make an overall introduction to MR effect,the mechanism of MR and the working model of MR, and derived damping force of MR damper based on working model. And in this basis, the anthor built the simulation model of MR damper in MATLAB.3) The road surface roughness and power spectrum of it was introduced, and built C level of random road input model in MATLAB/SIMULINK; the paper analyzed the suspension perfoemance evaluation index, as well as the suspension's effect on vehicle running smoothness and handling stability, it built 2-DOF 1/4 vehicle semi-active suspension dynamic model and established its state space equation. At last, make use of ADAMS/View to build 2-DOF 1/4 vehicle semi-active suspension mechanical model.4) Research and design of control strategy for semi-active suspension was concentration of this acticle. Based on PID control and fuzzy control, the author carried a depth research on control strategy of MR semi-active suspension with classical control and modern control theory. In orde to improve vehicle running smoothness, the author built PID single control model,Fuzzy-PID composite control model and adaptive Fuzzy-PID composite control model in MATLAB/SIMULINK.5) 2-DOF 1/4 vehicle semi-active suspension mechanical model was imported to MATLAB through ADAMS/Controls interface, so by this way, the author established PID control co-simulation model,Fuzzy-PID control co-simulation model and adaptive Fuzzy-PID co-simulation model of MR semi-active suspension. Conduct co-simulation, the result of co-simulation indicated that the vehicle running smoothness of MR semi-active suspension with three control strategy was significantly better than paasive suspension. Compared with PID single control strategy and Fuzzy-PID composite control strategy, adaptive Fuzzy-PID control strategy showed better control effect which greatly reduced vehicle body acceleration.The research achievement of this paper provided some reference value and guiding role for the design and development of MR semi-active suspension, and the application of co-simuliation provided new ideas for vehicle dynamics simulation.
