Aiming at structure performance of hyperbolic parabolic(HP) shell of cast-in-place, nonlinear finite element method is performed to study the configuration, edge beams, prestressing and dynamic performance of single-slope twisted shell and double-slope twisted shell and Xinghai concert hall shell. The tension stiffening model of concrete includes stress-strain, stress-displacement of crack, fracture energy and so on. In the finite element analysis models, solid element and shell element is used respectively. Analysis concerning structure performance of two-way slab, one-way slab and HP shell is carried out. A compared study of results from standard using arc-length method, Explicit and experiment is drawn. The ultimate bearing capacity of single- slope twisted shell and double- slope twisted shell is obtained by modifying vector height. Xinghai concert hall shell with different sizes also influences the ultimate strength. Through the analysis, conclusion is drawn that the ultimate strength is due to severe tension cracks in the shell and the reinforcement generally does not yield.Dynamic behavior of single-slope twisted shell and double- slope twisted shell with or without edge beam and prestressing is studied to obtain the natural frequency and mode. A comparative study of earthquake response between HP shell with and without edge beam is done. A comparative study between HP shell with and without prestressing is also done. The results show that HP shell with edge beam has a better structure performance.
