Arid Zone gully land ecological environment in China has been is the worst, he lives of the people level's poorest regions. The drought natural conditions and serious soil and water loss is restricting the area development important reasons. It not only destroyed the area of landscape ecology, and limit the development of the local economy, and caused great environmental damage to the downstream. Since the founding of New China, China's leaders at all levels attach great importance to the governance of the gully in arid district, in the hard work of scientists, the support of the CPC Central Committee, National People's concerted efforts and achieved fruitful results, and engineering measures of soil and water conservation and landscape eco-design in theory, was promoted to improve the ecology of the region an important research topic.(1) By introducing the theoretical basis of ecological landscape design and soil and water conservation and research prospects, starting from the soil and water conservation research perspective, the use of preservation of soil and water conservation, water culvert to maintain and improve soil carbon sequestration oxygen, purify the air, wind fixing, maintaining the landscape and ecological diversity, combined with the related concept of landscape ecology, ecological design, and integrated into the landscape of the arid gully to the eco-design theory.
