With the development of modern industry and the highway construction in our country, the actual speed of vehicle has being promoted. As this going on, the stability problem of high-speed vehicle comes into people's vision. The high-speed vehicle always be influenced by unknown disturbances which may cause lateral forces, it leads to tire lateral leaning and unsteady cornering, then the vehicle will drift from the certain direction. The driver must adjust the wheel in time to avoid traffic accident, while it can increase the driving dangers with too much adjustment. Therefore it is very important to study the control stability of high-speed vehicle with lateral disturbances.To study the control stability of high-speed vehicle with lateral disturbances, the causations of different disturbances are discussed firstly. Then, the foundation of dynamical model and computer simulation will become easy if the caused lateral forces are described mathematically.As the computer technology develops, there are about two ways to model a dynamic system now. One is to model a dynamic system based on formulas of dynamics. It will be very difficult to get the formulas and get the results when the system is too complex. It becomes necessary to simplify the system which may cause some characters of the system disappeared. But the later analysis will be simple for the responses of the system are expressed by formulas. The other way is using virtual prototyping software to model. It can get more degrees of freedom and more accurate results without complex derivation of equation. But it depends much on the reliability of the certain software and lacks theoretical direction. It considers both of these two methods in this paper. Firstly, a 3 DOF vehicle model is built and proved to be right according to the test data. Then the influence of different parameters on the control stability is got by changing some of them in the equations. The straight and steering traveling tests of a special car with different lateral forces are simulated on the simulation platform of ADAMS/CAR, and the results are analyzed in detail.
