A Study Of The Orderly Consumption Of Electricity In Country-level Cities

At the beginning of 2011, Zhejiang Power Grid appears many kinds of power shortage at the same time. They are severe, timed, even continuous and large-scale. The maximum load gap is expected to reach 500 kW. Faced with such a serious situation, orderly power consumption and rational utilization of power is the only way to ensure the safe running of power-grid and to maximally preserve the daily and economic use with limited power resources. This article discusses how Shangyu City deals with this situation as a county-level city. According to its own characteristics of power utilization, Shangyu City clearly defines power supply enterprises' responsibilities and confirms the guiding principle of orderly power consumption. After investigating the existing industries, the officials make different schemes of this principle for different levels, industries and lines. In the meantime, they establish effective warning mechanism and supervisory mechanism together with the government in advance to ensure orderly power consumption. Facts have shown that by doing so can reduce the pressure of the electricity supply and balance the supply and demand of power as well. It has already achieved great social benefits and economic benefits.
