Remote communication system is an indispensable subsystem to a whole SCADA system. It plays a key role in the whole system. based on the development status quo of remote communication system of power transmission project, This thesis analyzes the overall structure of remote communication system, carries out the function design and the software realization, realizes one kind of advanced Remote communication system.It is a computer system with a large capacity, which is base on the UNIX operation system and uses terminal_ server as communication device. There is guiding significance on the research and development of Remote communication system of AS\DC power transmission project.This thesis describes the whole design of Remote communication system of electrical power station, emphases the design and implementation of dual-machine Fault-Tolerance mechanism.It make a deeply discussion of the main implementation technologies that are concerned with Remote communication system and especially with dual-machine Fault-Tolerance system.This thesis mainly covers:1. Dardware configuration of Remote communication system.2. Software structure of Remote communication system.3. The communication between interface and server program based on ICE.4. Realize dual-machine redundant system.Other innovations lie in: Object-Oriented Analysis goes through the process of design. the software can run on UNIX,WINDOWS,LINUX; New pattern is adapted for master-slave to balance the load between the two machines.
