With rapid economic development of China, traditional form of structure cannot properly meet the demand of fast production and construction. More and more large-span spatial structures have been put into construction and operation. In the large complex spatial structure, it is necessary to monitor the structural parameters in real-time in order to discover the potential damage. The early warning of disasters, which is the core value of Structural Health Monitoring (SHM), can reduce the risks of structure operating and safeguard the people's lives and property. With the help of structural health monitoring system, the structural parameters could be collected, the damage position would be clearly identified, and the warning information shall be advertised ahead of disaster. In the whole mechanism of long-span spatial structural health monitoring system, data acquisition and control system is one of the most important components, which performance will directly influence the monitoring results. This paper introduces the background and characteristics of Dalian Stadium structural health monitoring project along with reasonable monitoring program. Considering the importance of cable tensioning, a series of monitoring practices were carried out during the construction period. This paper focuses on the research and development of data acquisition, processing and sub-control design in the monitoring system. The structure and characteristics of sensor system, requirements of data acquisition system were also analyzed. The NI CompactRIO and LabVIEW were finally adopted as the basic data acquisition hardware platform and software programming background. System monitoring software based on LabVIEW state machine was developed and put into use. Finally, the technology for developing integrated monitoring system was presented.A field trial with CompacrRIO and LabVIEW system performed stable and reliable. Due to long-term test and operation, it is found that NI CompactRIO and LabVIEW platform was one of the most ideal solutions for structural health monitoring system in the long-span spatial structure. This platform will provide a reference basis for future monitoring application. |
