A large number of hydro-junctions belong to the low head run-off type hubs.The low head run-off type hub project which is affected by a lot of factors,involving the engineering regional river planning,economic indicator,the river terrain,transportation ect.is a complex system engineering.And the influence factors of hub discharge capacity is numerous,side of the lock separation levee which similar levee dam narrow the river will produce the recirculation zone (slow flow zone) because the approach channel especially multi-line lock is generally wider and narrow the river.If the recirculation zone or slow flow zone is large,it will seriously affect the water velocity and the discharge capacity near the sluice gate lock holes.Based on SMS model which uses orthogonal curvilinear grid to create complex two-dimensional boundary following mathematical model of natural river. This paper studies the law with the change of the features such as width and length of the recirculation flow on the side of the separation levee lock under the main influence factor of the relative width of river.And the use of lateral separation levee lock recirculation and continuous spur the formation mechanism of the formation mechanism of the recirculation zone behind the dam similar characteristics,fitting the approach channel to change the relative width of river,this recirculation zone length and maximum width formula,and on this basis,analysis and appraisal separation levee layout of the dischange capacity of sluice gate.Based on the physical model test of Changsha comprehensive junction,the flow conditions in the separation levee side of approach channel are tested in the different avionics layout.This paper proposeds improving the recirculation flow conditions on the side of lock separation levee by changing the diversion levee length, the layout pattern and optimization the approach channel layout. The results can provide reference when choosing the length and type of separation levee in the practical project and increase the discharge capacity of sluice gate hub.
