In view of the current status in milling temperature measurement technology in domestic and abroad, based on collecting and studying the documentation which refer to enhanced 51-MCU development, VC interface programming and data processing, through selection to thermal radiation colorimetric thermometry and component, design of hardware and software, debugging and simulation experiment, a set of fiber-optic real-time cutting temperature measurement system with small volume and low cost is developed.The system is mainly used to measure real-time cutting temperature in end milling, providing experimental data and theoretical basis for the failure reason of milling insert and optimization of insert grooves. This paper focuses on the design and development process of the low-energy-consumption thermometry system using infrared thermometry technology.The main contents of this paper are as follows(1) By analysis and comparison, colorimetric thermometry is chosen and the dual wavelength is determined. Thermal radiation law that infrared thermometry principle follow and three different methods of thermometry are introduced, and then fiber-optic colorimetric thermometry is chosen by comparative analysis. This part describes the function of lightpath, hardware circuit and software in this optical fiber thermometry system, meanwhile, it designs and chooses dual wavelength of the optical fiber device.(2) Hardware circuit in thermometry system is designed and electronic items of this work are selected. Through analysis, the work uses STC12C5A60S2 with small volume and low power consumption as the system control center, and designs hardware circuit modules including reset circuit and crystal oscillator circuit, signal processing circuit, power supply circuit and serial communication circuit.(3) This work develops data acquisition and processing software in the infrared thermometry system, and debugs software and hardware parts.This work designs the lower computer software modules such as DAQ, digital filter and serial communication in KeilĪ¼Vision IDE. Based on Visual C++ 6.0 and MSComm, TeeChart and other ActiveX Controls, the upper computer implements some functions, including serial communication, real-time curves, data storage, images on-line preservation and print preview, etc. Then, this paper depicts procedures of hardware debugging,and serial TR and light emitter simulation experiment in software debugging.
