Noise control is an important direction of acoustic research. In the environmental noise pollution, the use of sound absorption materials processing is an important measure. So, it is important to do research on the acoustic material. One of the important factors in evaluating the performance of the acoustic material is the sound absorption coefficient. There are there points in this paper:underwater sound absorption material and structure, measurements of sound absorption materials and acoustic testing of underwater material.First, introduce how to evaluating acoustic materials and the progress of measurements of sound absorption. Analysis the material and structure's principle and formula of sound absorption, explain the sound absorption performance of every parameter.Second, comprehensive analysis the traditional sound control method:impedance-tube and pulse-tube. Then, introduce the principle of reverberation chamber and get the formula from this system.At last, make some sound absorption materials and structures, according to the pulse-tube and reverberation chamber methods, get the sound absorption coefficients. From the experiments, we know that the principle of reverberation chamber can be used in the water tank.
