Fiber optic gyroscope North-seeking system is the essential self-positioning system in the modern informationization warfare,and also is one of the main research results of inertial navigation system. With the improved performance of fiber optic gyroscope,the theory and technology's mature of fiber optic gyroscope North-seeking, FOG North-seeking is applied more and more widely, whether in military or civilian, the North-seeking system's superior performances have been fully played. But with the requirements of positioning accuracy continuous improved in the modern informationization warfare,north-seeking system's error analysis and error compensation scheme research have been the main research matter for the development institutions of FOG North-seeking system.This article is under the present experimental conditions, use the fiber optic gyroscope, accelerometer and SGT-three axis turntable compose the north seeking system of FOG.Firstly, summarize the developmental actuality of FOG and the application in the military and civilian status,the developmental actuality and application of fiber optic gyro north-seeking system; describes the working principle of FOG and FOG north-seeking system's working principle, and also gives the calculation models of static north seeking scheme and dynamic north seeking scheme of fiber gyro north-seeking system.Secondly, study the FOG's key performance indicators, analysis the main error sources which impact the gyro's accuracy, including the optical circuit error, the internal circuit error and the outside environmental factors; focuses on the main error sources which impact the FOG north-seeking system's accuracy,including the base leveling error, turntable transposition error, accelerometer errors and harmful latitude error and dynamic error,analysis their impact on the north finding accuracy, and give the error model and the corresponding compensations scheme.Thirdly, introduce three signal processing methods, smoothness filtering, Kalman filtering and wavelet filtering which is more commonly used, describes the principles and characteristics of these three signal processing methods; detailedly study the principles of wavelet analysis and the choice of wavelet basis; compare three signal processing methods' filtering effects in the north seeking output data.Finally, use the FOG north-seeking system composed by the fiber optic gyroscopes, accelerometers, and SGT-three axis turntable to validate compensation schemes,which incuding fiber gyro constant drift compensation scheme, harmful latitude information compensation scheme, turntable transposition error compensation scheme and gyro drif compensation scheme.
