Now" the ship integrated power system has the development of breakthrough, not only being used in various engineering vessels, oil tankers, container ships and other conventional ship, but also being used to warships on large-scale experimental researches and applications.A good future application can be seen.Although the ship integrated power system has many advantages, but it still a stand-alone isolation power network. The network's capacity is small and sensitive to the change of load. In modern ships, some of the large motor has the same capacity as the power network, and could cause the speed of generator greater volatility. With the increasing applications of various power equipments, the load would cause the instantaneous mutation when the power equipment is started or closed. These may bring a great impact to the ship integrated power system, cause many electronic power plants and it's corresponding control device unable to work, and have a significant impact on the stability of the ship integrated power system.The paper present the flywheel energy storage system. Point out using the flywheel energy storage to reduce the large impact of the high load fluctuation to the power generator. Base on modularization modeling thoughts, the simulation module of the ship integrated power system is modelled. The simulation interface of the ship integrated power system is built by using Matlab/GUI technology. It can control simulation module through the interface, and make post-processing functions. This allows the operation of thesimulation system more user-friendly, and reduces the user's operational needs.The best control program of the flywheel energy storage is discussed by simulation. Different response to different load fluctuations is got by simulation with the flywheel energy storage system. The simulation results show that the power network stability can be enhanced, and the impact of the high load fluctuation can be reduced effectively by the application of the flywheel energy storage system.
