Mountain is widely distributed in China, especially in southwest China, factories, mines and construction are often built on the slope. The study on slope stability is particularly urgent. Seepage is main factor leading to landslides. So studying the impact of seepage on slope stability is practical significance. In this paper, I analyze the slope stability under static condition by use a specific project example, and analyze the impact of seepage on slope stability, I mainly do the following work:1,I describes the various methods of slope stability analysis, and introduce the theory of seepage, and seepage field and stress field interaction mechanism.2,Through the establishment of numerical model into ANSYS to calculate FLAC3D,analyze the variation of stress and strain of the slope both in no water and saturated cases. In the case of saturated flow, the slope of the maximum principal stress and the minimum principal stress have to be increasing, analysis believe that it is due to saturation of groundwater in the central plains and some filling the soil pores, resulting in the increase of total stress.3,In the case of saturated flow the the displacement of slope is significantly increased, in x direction, the displacement increases significantly, showing trend away from the slope, in z direction, the displacement direction change upward. This is due to soil saturation, increases the pore pressure and decreases effective stress.4,From the shear strain increment can be seen, without considering the case of water, the greater the slope, the occurrence of shear failure may be stronger, but when the soil saturates, because of groundwater accumulate at the foot of the slope, decreases the strength of soil at the foot of the slope, and because of the buoyancy effect of water, leading to more deformation at the foot of the slope, and resulting the slid.5,By comparing the maximum unbalanced force in two conditions, when neglecting the seepage, the maximum unbalanced force convergence to 0, and the slope is stable, when considering the seepage, the maximum unbalanced force changes greatly, shows the slope may be unstable. 6,By comparative with the analysis of lizheng software,it is found that the safety factor is consistent by FLAC3D, and the calculations by FLAC3D is reliable.
