The rotor of large-capacity nuclear power turbogenerator is usually designed with small slot and bias slot to improve the performance of the generator. Electromagnetic parameters that affected by the small slot and bias slot of the rotor of large-capacity nuclear power turbogenerator were deeply studied in this paper, and the transient performances of the loss of excitation were also analyzed.Firstly, the original electromagnetic calculation formulas of the turbogenerator, which are not considering the small slot and bias slot, were revised drawing on the design ideas of the rotor magnetic circuit of the U.S. Westinghouse. So the magnetic circuit that impacted by the small slot and bias slot of the rotor of the turbogenerator can be fully considered, and they can be used in the large capacity unclear power turbogenerator design.Secondly, viewing the high calculation speed and the strong operability of the computer, the revised program was compiled into a computer program by Matlab. And engineering soft was made by the VB soft. There are strong functions in the engineering soft, it not only are linked to the Ansoft/Maxwell, but also are linked to the AutoCAD. So the magnetic field can be conveniently analyzed and the engineering drawing can be easily got. Finally, the simulation model of the loss of excitation of the nuclear power turbogenerator was put up by Matlab/Simulink to analyze the transient performances of the loss of excitation. The changing situation of the electric quantity was analyzed, and the input power which can make the nuclear power turbogenerator operate under asynchronous operation condition was obtained.
