Stator winding insulation of generator will be subjected to the effects of electricity, heating, mechanical vibration, and various environmental factors during operation and it will be gradually aging. Over time, the aging of insulation not only reduces the generator's mechanical strength and electrical strength, or even lead to motor insulation breakdown and then the generator can not operate. Therefore, the use of multi-factor aging test equipment simulating bar aging environment to study the aging law of Insulation, assess the remaining life of the generator has very important significance on generator reliability and safe operation. The main content of this thesis has two aspects. On the one hand design and manufacture the multi-factor aging test equipment including the construction of the foundation, the selection of exciter, designing the oven, the heating power calculation, bar electrode treatment, the choice of transformer. On the other hand determine the parameters of Multi-factor aging test, establish the multi-factor aging test program and age the bar based on the analysis of aging. The results of this research indicate that multi-factor aging test system could simulate the aging environment and the aging process of the generator in operation. The experiment showed that as the aging going on, the partial discharge, discharge times, dielectric loss tangent and other parameters grow as aging time increases. Two aging factor of electric and heating have a distinct aging effect than the single factor under the same condition. This also shows that effect of multi-factor aging test system is remarkable and could meet requirements of researching the aging law of the main insulation and accessing the remaining life of the generator.
