In advocation to low carbon living today, energy saving and environmental protection requirements increasingly stringent. As for Microwave oven, its energy saving manifests in the energy efficiency, with heating uniformity and heating efficiency as the main performance indexes, while its environmental protection manifests in electromagnetic interference, with microwave leakage as the main safety performance index .There are some main factors which might impact the energy saving performance, such as the size, shape & material of the cavity & waveguide, the position and shape of the waveguide exit, the material of the microwave stirring system and the way the stirring system works, etc.. While the microwave impedence capabilities of the door frame structure design, and the gap between door frame & the cavity front plate are the main factors which might impact the performance of microwave leakage.Using the Frequency Inverter high-temperature steam microwave oven as the research object, this paper is to study on how to improve the heating efficiency & uniformity and how to reduce the microwave leakage.Main contents are as follow:1) To source for a proper antenna structure to improve the heating efficiency & uniformity under Antenna Theory.2) To analize the microwave power supply system using soft steel choke transformer and the power supply control and to conduct related functional performance testing & cooking testing.3)To prevent the microwave leakage, use Six Sigma technique and DOE tools to determine the door frame design and also specify the gap between the door and the front plate of the cavity.
