Dam Construction present such features as large scale, many inputs, long construction period, complex technology and many uncertain factors, the mixing, transportation and pouring process are all with great importance, witch have directly impact on the construction plan, cost and quality.When planning and programming the project construction, the traditional methods by rule of thumb not only waste time and effort but also be lack of quantitative calculations, with the lower accuracy.So it is difficult to get a proper construction proposal according to these methods. The emergence of computer simulation system solves this problem very well. It can evaluate the performance of the system before its actual operation, and does not affect the actual system in the case of program evaluation and optimization. In recent years, simulation system is widely used in large-scale water conservancy and hydropower projects, it gradually becomes an effective tool for construction process analysis and decision making. The author is engaged in the research of concrete dam construction process simulation,which contains the mixing, transportation and pouring system.Firstly,the service time of mixing subsystem follows a random log-normal distribution, and it establishes a efficiency reduction factor according to the different types of concrete. Secondly,The transportation system is the core of the concrete construction system for the simulation, it can be abstracted into a finite source of multi-stage stochastic service system because there is often a queue in the transport system waiting for service.Lastly, the pouring subsystem must have the function of depot division automaticly according to the actual mixing intensity.During the simulation process, it usually needed to edit the code in the program according to the differences of the construction methods and schedules. In order to solve the problem, the author, by defining the meaning of mechanical orientation and editing data files, used the Visual Basic to develop a software for simulating the concrete dam construction. The software can achieve the simulation for different projects as long as you edit the data files.In the example of the paper, the author edited the orientation information form according to the different construction methods, used the software to calculate,obtained the construction period,monthly concrete placement,diagram of depot division and detailed schedule of the dam. The example given in the paper proves that the program is universality and the results are in agreement with the laws of construction.
