According to the fact that chemical interaction is mostly ignored in the stability analysis of tailings dam in recent years. Combining with example, analysing the change situation of different acid and alkaline solution for the pH ysical and chemical properties of tailings deposited soil, using theoretical analysis by combination of numerical analysis, in-depth study of the chemical-mechanical coupling effect of the deformation mechanism of tailings dam. The main content of the paper as follows:(1) When the acid solution effect on the tailings dam long-term, the chemistry such as dissolution, cementation, ion exchange will occur. There will be a certain degree of change dam materials of pH ysical and mechanical properties. Acid and alkali solution on the mechanism of tailings are difference. Acid mainly affects dam material shear strength , alkali solution to the dam appears clogging. Will eventually increase the dam deformation, affecting dam stability;(2) Carrying out acid and alkali solution seepage laboratory test respectively. Analysis evolution of tailings deposition soil pH ysical and mechanical properties and permeability changes with time under the influence of acid and alkaline solution condition. Obtained under the action of acid solution permeability exponentially with time. Permeability under the action of alkali solution into the quadratic function with the time;(3) Based on the results of laboratory tests and mechanism. Establishing the concentration-seepage-stress coupled mathematical model of tailings dam under the action of acid and alkali solution seepage;(4) Uses laboratory test of acid and alkali solution seepage and numerical simulation of stability analysis of tailings dam to study; uses COMSOL finite element software simulation the stability of tailings dam deformation under different pH solutions. Acid derived deformation of the dam is greater than alkaline solution.
