With the progress of the society, innovation of science and technology, more and more super high-rise building are emerging as a landmark in modern cities. Hence the structure safety under wind and earthquake action has drawn attention of researchers at home and abroad.From the point of view of energy, it is necessary to take some measures to reduce the energy input to stuctures, in order to improve structures performance under wind and earthquake action.Due to high cost and much more energy-dissipated members of the traditional energy dissipation system,the damped outrigger structural system proposed to overcome such shortages has become a research hot pot.So far,the new damped outrigger structure has past the wind tone test, and successfully applied to practical engineering,yet the aseismic performance characteristics has not been proved. This paper mainly focus on the the aseismic performance of damped outrigger system,and organize the research as follows:(1) A parametric design process of the damped outrigger is put forward.Analysis the factors which influenced the performance of the damped outrigger structure from theoretical and optimized. For the sake of performance of the damped outrigger structure under nonstationary random vibration,the method of pseudo-excitation is used to analyse the respose of the damped ourtrigger structure with two outriggers,and the comparison of the relative story displacement,story drift and story acceleration are outlined.(2) The Guangzhou East Tower conceptual models have been designed,manufatured and experimented for the purpose of aseismic performance, and the test results have been compared with the traditional fixed outrigger such as: story drift, story acceleration, strain response and base force.(3) In order to verify the accuracy of shaking talbe test,two 3D finite element models,representing the damped outrigger structure and the tional rigid one respectively, have been developed in SAP2000 and the analysis results,which input the corresponding earthquake waves measured on shaking table, have been compared with the shaking talbe ones.In order to indentify the experiment model, the model with stem ,soild and shell have been established respectively.The seismic response of the damped outrigger structure is magnified when acceleration input is small during the test,two analysis model which the damper present iscoelatic and viscous friction characteristic is put forward.(4) A real project in Tianjin has been used as an humerical example to indicate the application of the novel outrigger energy dissipation system,where the effectiveness in reducing seismic response and the feasibility in practical engineering have been confirmed by comparing the effect with traditional horizontal and toggle layout.Finally, some conclusions are summarized based on previous research,and the topics for further research are presented.
