The product quality embodies enterprise's technique content and culture which is the foundation of the brand value.In fact ,no quality means no famous brand.For a long time, the poor quality and the low price that have a relationship with the backwardness quality idea and management system of Chinese enterprises are the overall image of Chinese product in the international market. Therefore, paying attention to production quality has the vital significance and role for Chinese firms which are at the start stage of their brand management.Because the automobile market has been a buyer's market now,so we must adapt to the increasingly fierce competition of the market and customer demand, as well as accept a market environment which is declining for the price of a product and the low profit margin.These require us to improve the quality of products, to deepen the fabrication technology, to reduce the loss rate of waste products and to cut down the cost consumption.Grinding process is the most important step in the manufacturing procedure of engine gear.Because this process is requested strict quality of production,and it has the highest defective index .At the same time ,the profit of spare part is reduced gradually.For these reasons,how to decrease the damages waste of product, has became a top priority.Aiming at this problem that how to use Q-UP theory of Nissan to decrease the defective index for grinding process of engine gear in the such-and-such company, the study has done from different angles and aspects in this thesis.To begin with, the theory of Nissan is transformed into steps and methods which provide practical operation.Then, these steps and methods are used for grinding work line in engine gear workshop.To carry out the activity of Q-UP in the engine gear grinding work line,213 items differences between the scene and the instruction standard are found out.Then, these differences are restored and improved , thus the accuracy of the standard production guidance is realized .To grasp the condition of the production personnel skills,make clear the actual situation of site operation personnel ,point out the training work, and improve the skill levels of production line operators.To analyze the damages waste situation over the past year for production line,the root which produced damages waste are discovered. Thereby, the key question is improved, the occurrence of defective product is solved fundamentally.To evaluate all processes of the production line, weakness working procedures which create damages waste are found ,then these procedures were improved. Consequently,the reduction of defective product is realized and the defective product which flow to customers is eliminated.Through developing the above works,the defective index for engine gear of grinding process is fell from 6457ppm to 1854ppm, the defective product which flow to the production line is eliminated, the silver stage goal of Q-UP activity is achieved ,the research that is transformed from the Q-UP theory of Nissan into steps which provide practical operation is completed, and the entire study content is sorted out,formed the standard file which is used to guide other activities development of production line in the company .
