Automotive air conditioning compressor as the heart of the refrigeration system, serve as transport the refrigerant vapor in order to make sure the refrigeration cycle work normal. With the development of new energy vehicles and HEV in the automotive industry, electric compressor has become the main development trends of automotive air conditioning compressor. Drive motor is the driving force of electric compressor, by changing the motor speed to change the cooling capacity of air conditioners, efficiency, operation conditions, noise etc. that of electric compressor drive motor has a critical influence on the performance of the air conditioning system. Thus, developed high-performance electric compressor has great significance to the development of automotive air conditioning industry.Switched Reluctance Motor has many advantages over other motors, such as the simple and rugged structure, low cost, high operating efficiency, flexible control, low temperature, heavy starting torque, suitable for frequent start and so on. With the development of new power semiconductor devices, Switched Reluctance Motor has been widely used in household appliances, electric vehicle drive systems, compressors and so on. It can be predicted, developed Switched Reluctance Motor as the electric compressor drive motor of automotive air-conditioning systems, will become the trend of automotive air conditioning market.In this dissertation, on the basis of studying the the basic structure of Switched Reluctance Motor, operating principle, control method and the advantages and disadvantages of that, considering the drive motor's working conditions of the automotive air conditioning compressor is strong vibration, high corrosion, high temperature, First proposed a sensorless position detection method based on neural network - pulse excitation, developed a sensorless Switched Reluctance Drive system to drive the compressor of the automotive air conditioning. And the system uses the angle position control method at high speed, chopped current control method at low speed. Programming in MATALB simulation software, simulating the position detection module of the system, and analysis the motor of the 3000W 12/8 pole Switched Reluctance Motor test system's operating characteristics. The simulation results and experimental results both show that the position detection method of sensorless switched reluctance motor drive system designed in this dissertation is simple, high precision, and the motor's operation performance is stability, has small torque ripple, confirmed system designed in this dissertation is reasonable.
