The alkaline Zn/MnO2 cell reflects many advantages such as high specific energy, easy to use since it was been commercialized. So it has become the most widely used battery in civil areas. With the rapid development of electronic digital products, the applications of existing alkaline Zn/MnO2 cell has been limited due to its poor fast discharge properties and rechargeable ability. This paper studies the synthesis of nano KBiO3 as the positive doping agent of MnO2 and Ag4Bi205 as the positive electrode of alkaline battery. The Ag4Bi2O5 material used as doping agent of MnO2 is also studied.Firstly, the nano KBiO3 was synthesized by KClO+KOH mixture oxidizing Bi (NO3)3. The optimal synthetic conditions were explored and the material was characterized by XRD, FSEM and TG-DSC tests. The electrochemical performance of MnO2 doped with KBiO3 was measured by galvanostatic method and cyclic voltammetry tests. The reaction mechanism of doped electrode was also discussed.Secondly, using AgNO3 and Bi (NO3)3 mixtures as raw materials, KOH solution as precipitation agent, Ag4Bi2O5 was synthesized under the precision control the alkalinity, stirring, dropping speed and temperature. Experimental results show that the material in alkaline solution can take place multi-electronic reduction process, and the material has good charge-discharge performance. The paper also studied the electrochemical reaction mechanism of Ag4Bi2O5 electrode in alkaline electrolyte.The electrochemical property of MnO2 electrode doped with nano Ag4Bi2O5 and the doped mechanism were studied. The results show that Ag4Bi2O5 can improve the electrochemical properties of EMD above 1.0 V thus satisfy the demand of digital products. The industrial production results show that the doped electrode which according to industrial scale ratio can also show good electrochemical performance.
