Estuarine and coastal areas are areas of frequent human activities. Their Hydrodynamic environment has been extensively studied. With the construction of coastal power plants, the tidal current field and water temperature changes caused by the power plant cooling water system have also become an important research topic. This paper intends to establish two-dimensional tidal model with visual interface for the coastal region. And then propose two calculating method for the sediment erosion problem near water intakes. Specifically, the work of this paper is as follows:According to N-S equation, two-dimensional current govern equation was derived. The govern equation was discreted with Calerkin finite element method and was solved by SOR iterative method.Using FORTRAN, VB mixed programming technology to visualize the numerical model. And then secondary develop AutoCAD software to realize the post-processing of the mathematical model. The numerical model was applied to Xianglu Petrochemicals (Zhangzhou) Co., sea water cooling system XLP2PTA project to confirm the correctness of the model.Propose theory and numerical calculating methods for the sediment erosion problem near water intakes.
