Self-anchored suspension bridge has the main aesthetic characteristics of traditional bridge, such as unique and spectacular structure, lively curvilinear main cable full of tension and magnificent and magnetic tower. This king of bridge full of clear flag effect is built in the urban area or scenic spot, where the landscape is required high, to look forward to showing the location characteristics or personality.The main load-bearing components main cable of general suspension bridge is anchored in the anchor. In a few cases, in order to meet specific design requirements, the main cable can also be directly anchored in the stiffening beam, thereby eliminating a huge anchor, and that is the self-anchored suspension bridge. Despite the self-anchored suspension bridge developing earlier in foreign countries, but little in the domestic construction, rarely relevant literature found, which makes the development of this bridge in China is far behind foreign countries.The research is based on the West River Bridge projects in Xianyang Road, Tianjin city. The bridge is located in the urban area of Tianjin city, across the Ziya River, and the whole bridge consists of three parts, the main bridge, south bridge approach and north bridge approach, length of 553.1 meters. South approach spans 126 meters long, north bridge approach is 180 meters. The main bridge of the twin towers three-span self-anchored suspension bridge span arrangement is 48.05 +115 +48.05 meters.By the success of West River Bridge in the construction control designing and monitoring, in the subject, we systematically discussed force principle, structural features, construction monitoring, measurement technology and other technologies of self-anchored suspension bridge. To guide the various stages of construction and facilitate the work carried out smoothly and ensure the quality, progress and security of the project, we determined the control design and construction monitoring points of self-anchored suspension bridge, and made further analysis and calculation on the basis of the proposed process comparing with the monitoring data of all stages in field. After the opening of the bridge, four times of dynamic monitoring for the main parameters such as stress and deformation, comprehensively verified the design theory analysis of the main bridge and the construction quality of the West River Bridge, and ensure safety of the bridge operation, which provides a comprehensive data monitoring guidance for the operation inspecting of self-anchored suspension bridge.
