High speed motor is used more and more widely in the field of energy, industrial, aerospace and medical because of its superiority of high speed, small size and high power density.So high speed motor has received wider and wider attention. Based on the combination approach of analysis method and finite element method (FEM), this paper analyzes the magnetic field distribution and the loss of the high-speed permanent magnet synchronous generator, and researches the effect of the critical dimensions of the motor parameters on the motor losses and efficiency.First,we summarize the methods of analyzing the stator slotting.Through the introduction of air gap relative permeability function,we can combins it to the the magnetic field distribution under the armature with the smooth surface.Then,we can receive the no-load air-gap magnetic field.Through the finite element method we can analyze the magnetic field of stator core magnetic field, including the stator teeth and yoke.We equivalence armature winding to the surface current layer and the magnetic field of armature reaction were resolved.Second, on the basis of the magnetic field the loss of high-speed permanent magnet synchronous generator is calculated. Based on the Bertotti model of iron loss, the stator iron loss is calculated. Considering the current losses and eddy current losses, the stator copper loss is calculated. In the comparative analysis of several rotor eddy current loss calculation method, the rotor eddy current loss is calculated. Considering air friction losses, the rotor wind abrasion is calculated.Then, the design methods of high-speed permanent magnet synchronous generator were studied. Based on the principle of optimal efficiency, the best split ratio of the motor was analyzed. Also, the ratio of the length to diameter was optimized.Finally, based on the theoretical analysis, the experiment is done and the experimental results agree with the simulation ones.
