Lithium battery coating machine pole piece drying cabinet is the importantequipment for production of lithium batteries, and is the major equipment used for dryingcoated pole piece. When the hot air flow velocity used for drying pole piece is notsuitable, or the flow distribution on the pole piece surface is not uniform, the slurrycoating will appear dry first on the one side, then on the other side, pole piece occurs tocircle. Only if the wind velocity on the pole piece surface is suitable and distributeduniformly, it can achieve a good drying effect. In this paper, using Solidworks softwarefor drying cabinet structure modeling, using CFD finite element simulation software fornumerical simulation, finally using flow visualization method for experiment.First establish the physical model of drying cabinet through the drawings providedby the factory, mesh the model with fluid plug COSMOSFloworks provided bySolidworks software, set the boundary condition according to measured data, and obtainthe flow field distribution of whole drying cabinet through a numerical simulation.Design different deflectors for the original drying cabinet, obtain the flow fielddistribution of whole drying cabinet of different deflectors through a numericalsimulation, make a research about the flow characteristic on the up and down chamberand near the surface of the pole piece, use methods of mathematical statistics forquantitative analysis of velocity and uniformity on the pole piece surface; Perform anumerical simulation to a drying cabinet with different air nozzles, make a research onresistance loss of drying cabinet with different air nozzles, and analyze about the flowcharacteristics; Fine-tune the air nozzle spacing between the liner and the shell to changethe size of the outlet gap, change the inlet position and reduce the exhaust outlet and thereturn outlet size to optimize the flow flied on the pole piece surface, make a analysisabout the flow field distribution on different conditions Finally Simulation result is to becompared by observing the flow characteristics of the flow field in experiment and thereare some analyses.
