Landing site selection is the most important prerequisite and guarantee of Lunar soft landing exploration. The selection of landing site is the research process of moon information through statistics, induction and analysis from successful missions of Lunar soft landing. It mainly includes successful landing mission statistics, landing-site selection principle summary, landing area characteristics research, selection strategies trend analysis, weight coefficient calculation and lunar terrain reconstruction. At present, two important problems faced with landing-site selection are lack of systematic selection criteria and evaluation parameters and short of method that directly reflect actual morphology of lunar surface. Starting from the issues above, this paper conducted studies on the landing-site selection rules and topography reconstruction method. The main research content include:1. It analyzed reports of manned and non-manned lunar landing missions, generalized common rules and special factors for landing-site selection according to the landing-sites moon distribution of every mission, and proposed several basic principles.2. In view of the principles for selecting landing-site, it analyzed several landing area characteristics which included latitude and longitude position, average slope, landing accuracy and target resources. It raised methods for calculating slope and spherical distance between two points, and got landing area characteristics of 19 successful landing of the missions by the methods. Ultimately, it obtained developing trend of landing-site selection principle by analyzing the trend of each characteristics. The trend represents the direction for selecting landing-site and can reflect present situation of landing site selection.3. It counted the factors to be considered when the successful lunar landing missions selected sites, analyzed their focus and reason for each tasks, and calculated the weight coefficient of various factors on the landing point selection by the"Analytic Hierarchy Process"method. Firstly, it established hierarchical model based on the research question of this paper, and then constructed the judgment matrix and calculated weight coefficient, and finally conducted consistency test. The calculation process made the selection principle indicators and selection trend quantitative.4. To visually show morphology of the alternative landing zone, it proposed a method of modeling lunar terrain based on DEM data. Firstly, it made the contour map using DEM data, and then sampled points in the contour lines, and finally achieved the process from discrete points to topographic entity. By error analysis, the method is proved with good accuracy and can meet the need of reflecting actual lunar terrain.The innovations include:1. It calculated the influence of different factors for determining landing area by using mathematical statistical method.2. It reconstructed three-dimensional topography model of lunar landing zone by using lunar exploration data.
