| Many of our country's existing High-piled wharfs have reached their design life or already been in extended service, and some others are suffering serious damage which caused by design and construction factors. However, the residual bearing capacity assessment of the old&damaged High-piled wharfs is not mature at home or abroad. There is practical significance to research on the evaluation of the old&damaged High-piled wharfs. In this paper, non-linear FEM is used to analyze the bearing system of High-piled wharfs. Based on the FEM software ANSYS, two comprehensive modes were built in order to fulfill practical engineering. Both discrete model and smeared model are introduced to simulate the reinforced concrete. The calculation results of these two models all show that the potential carrying capacity does exists due to the simplified measures which are aiming to convenient design and safety during the terminal design works despite significant difference. Then, the residual bearing capacity of the track beam, where the steel is rusty and scaling of concrete appears, have been analyzed and evaluated respectively on the basis of the two FEM models of the High-piled wharf above. All conclusions indicate that it's feasible to evaluate the carrying capacity of the damaged High-piled wharfs by using FEM. The calculation results are accurate and intuitive, also have certain significance to the actual engineering. |
